Al Gore gave us a heads up on Global Warming. Some of listened with apprehension, while others laughed and called the notion silly.  Well who is laughing now?  The Polar ice is melting and at ever increasing rate, a fact scientist can prove many times over.  Weather around the world is growing a little more extreme with each passing year.

     Adelaide, Australia, Nov, 2009 is experiencing its hottest day in nine months, with the mercury reaching 38.8C at 2.20pm - 16C above the average temperature on this date.  Rising seas threaten Shanghai, and put millions of people, trillions of dollars of assets, at risk in coastal cities.  Deep in the Himalayas, the disappearance of glaciers is threatening the kingdom of Bhutan.  The Northeast U.S. coast hit with back to back blizzards in one week this winter.  Climate change has affected Kenyan coffee production through unpredictable rainfall patterns and excessive droughts, making crop management and disease control a nightmare. 
     At what point do we stop writing and talking about the Planets future and become proactive.  Plant more trees and vegetation to help offset some of the Carbon emissions.  Put an end to vehicles that polute and aren't fuel efficient.  Insist that those claiming to represent us and have our best interest at hand, pave the way with serious legislation aimed at cleaning up our world NOW!  It will take a enormous, collective effort from all of us to make sure we leave our Grandchildren in a world in which they have a chance to thrive, not just survive.
