February, 2010 Convention in Tennessee
Are they really just the disgruntled, extreme right-wing of the GOP?......If not, why choose Sarah Palin as a keynote speaker. A radical within Republican rank, becoming increasingly known for her ability to misrepresent and misappropriate, while in elected office. Convention action included activists helping to counsel people on how to register new GOP voters in their communities.
Maybe they're just people who feel neither party has their best interest in mind..... Some of the attendees to the convention say Former President George W. Bush is responsible for the fiscal policies that caused the economy to collapse and that President Obama, with his bail-out and stimulus package, is making the situation worse. Others who came for the weekend, criticize the Republican Party as fiercely as they do the Democratic Party. The Founder of the Evergreen-Conifer Tea Party in Colorado, Lori Christenson, wants politicians to act like their power comes from the people, not from their celebrity. Acknowledging her group refuses to get involved with conservative social issues, which she calls "very, very divisive."
Or as some are whispering loudly; are they the Klan reincarnated?.......The New York Daily News reported that Tancredo said President Barack Obama was elected because “we do not have a civics, literacy test before people can vote.”He went on to say,“People who could not even spell the word ‘vote’ or say it in English put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House”. To know that only 600 mostly white, middle-aged people would sit and listen while Tancredo spewed this racist, un-American garbage proves how little steam this political train has. Though the fact one person, let alone 600 would show no disdain towards rhetoric of this nature makes me wonder aloud if just possibility the Klan has returned, only now they call themselves the Tea Party, and they are not bothering to hide themselves under robes and hoods.
