Actually, it's more like the elephant has just plain gone mad from the inability to discern which faction will control the beast. You have your everyday run of the mill Conservatives battling with the ever more violence inciting and racist Teabaggers for control of the GOP platform. What is it about the Republican party that causes it to attract an unfair proportion of paranoids and crazies? Is it the liaisons held at sexy, nefarious locations? Might it be the free elephant rides? Maybe it's not having to bother educating oneself on history because they don't consider it pertinent and they can always make some up if they need it! Or is there a deeper, more sinister explanation as to why there are so many loonies who call themselves Republicans? Who or what will emerge from this chaos to claim the GOP's mantle is anybodies guess, but the escalating rhetoric, scandals, lies, mud-slinging, and bigotry are peeling away at any preconceived notion of what a Republican looks like, as well as giving writers and commentators on the left so much material to report on, they are having to pick and choose what to use.

Honestly, watching the Right turn in on itself and devour it's own, is equivalent to witnessing a horrific accident. The images you see and hear are disturbing, frightening, and often times extremely offensive but one just cannot, will not look away. We have a responsiblity to make sure that those among us who are unable and or unwilling to consider the needs of all CITIZENS, never under any circumstance get the upper hand in this great country of ours. Of the People, by the people, and for the people means ALL the people, not a fringe few. Meanwhile, those of us whose political leanings are formed from a balanced source of civil discourse, media consumption, and good old fashioned common sense, will settle in at our computers, and our in front the of the TV and watch as the GOP circus unfolds. The Teabagger's....Who really needs skills like readin' and writin', when all you have to do is intimidate those that disagree with your myopic views by threatening violence against them. By the way, could you point out those "African-Americans" in your group again, I am having trouble seeing them.
