Household Helper

         I remember when I was a youngster, days seem to last forever. An hour seemed to go on endlessly, and 3 weeks into summer you were looking for things to do to fill your day. Either I am really moving slowly at this point in my life, or the clocks in my house are ticking off the minutes at an accelerated rate. No matter how hard I try, I never get around to doing everything I need to do, let alone what I want to do. This is just a suspicion, but I believe that somewhere hiding in a closet at my home, is a creature of small stature that only comes out after I’ve finished my housework.

         I’ve been trying to catch it in the act, but no luck yet and I don’t think I’m the only woman who is having this problem. Ever wash all your dishes and then head off to do another chore such as laundry, and then when you return to the kitchen to put up the dry dishes, half of what you washed is now sitting back on the counter, dirty and ready to be washed again! That creature works quickly. To this day, I have not seen the bottom of my laundry basket for a period of more than 10 minutes.  A specialty though, is taking my filled vacuum cleaner bag and while I sleep, shaking it back out onto my carpet, and throwing the rest apparently in the air so it will come floating down on my furniture. I know the clerks are starting to look at me funny at the Wal-Mart, because I buy my furniture polish by the case now. Oh well, maybe I can somehow trick it into refilling the cat and dogs food dish, once they’re empty.

I’ll have to work on that one, but until then I guess I’ll just be a step behind. LOL
