Ingredients
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
3 Tbls GOLD MEDAL® all-purpose flour3 cups 2% milk
2 tsp DOMINO® sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 14.5oz cans RED GOLD® diced tomatoes, undrained
Preparation
In a large saucepan, melt margarine over medium heat. Stir in onion and celery and cook until tender. Gradually add flour into the vegetable mixture, stirring until well blended. Next slowly stir in the milk and then the sugar, salt, pepper, and tomatoes, stirring constantly until the mixture begins to thicken and and boil. Cook until soup is thick and creamy. Serve piping hot.
Complement with saltines, or better yet with one of Pepperidge Farm many varieties of GOLDFISH® CRACKERS.
