PHILOSOPHERS STONED

In the history of the human race nothing has touched our imagination more than the thoughts of the philosophers. They were the muses of kings, helping them to avoid disaster. Guiding them to both triumph and tragedy.  Believing  that their musings would secure kingdoms, for the men and women that  could only see that the future could be  won, with the wisdom of the past. Here are some of the
very best.

"No one will have any other desire in heaven than what God wills; and the desire of one will be the desire of all; and the desire of all and of each one will also be the desire of God."  SAINT ANSELM (1100)

"I am I, my circumstance. This expression, which appears in my frist book and which, in the final volume, condenses my philosophical thought, does not only mean the doctrine which my work expounds and proposes, but also that my work is an efffective instance of that same doctrine.  My work is, in essence and presence, circumstantial."
José Ortega y Gasset (1932)

"If we can prevent something bad without sacrificing anything of comparable significance, we ought to do it; absolute poverty is bad;  there is some poverty we can prevent without sacrificing anything of comparable moral significance; therefore we ought to prevent some absolute poverty."
Pete Singer (1979)

As diverse as all these opinions are they hold one thing in common "TRUTH"!

ANGELS IN REVOLT

The Catholic Church continues to ignore the abuse of priests whose primary responsibility has always been to promote the faith of Jesus Christ and to take care of its members.  By abusing the youngest minds and the weakest among them-those who can't possibly understand the denied ramifications of being manipulated into the sexual appetites of men who have been their natural urges-the church continues to be thrown into a negative light.  Not every priest can be painted with this broad brush of condemnation.  The dark souls of those who do engage in this hideous behavior are dooming themselves, because they will be the ones standing at the gates of hell when their lives have ended.  The scars they have left on the young they have abused, scream out for vengeance, and all those who aided and abetted these priest must pay a price.  Perhaps, some of the angels wings are broken and the tears of blood are now running down their faces.  Maybe this too will be for those who prey on the innocent.  And as the storm clouds over the Vatican grow darker, the light dims.  For today the Prophets speak, it's time to reflect on this verse:  "JUDGE ME O LORD MY GOD, ACCORDING TO THY RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND LET THEM NOT REJOICE OVER ME."......PSALM 24

By abusing the youngest minds and the weakest among them--those who can't possibly understand the ramifications of being manipulated into the sexual appetites of men who have been denied their natural urges--the church continues to be thrown into a negative light. And as the storm clouds over the Vatican grow darker, the lights dim. For today is Easter Sunday, it's time to reflect on this verse:  "JUDGE ME O LORD MY GOD, ACCORDING TO THY RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND LET THEM NOT REJOICE OVER ME." ....... PSALM 24
