It's not too often that you find a good mashup of plants and computers, but artist Macoto Murayama manages the trick.He leverages the wonderful geometry of plant growth patterns to make stunning images. Some of them are even anatomically correct — but don't worry. They're definitely safe for work.

A Japanese digital artist has shown the beauty and complexity of flowers - by recreating them with a computer.Macoto Murayama carefully dissects real plants before rendering them using powerful technology.The resulting work shows the beauty of their structures in amazing detail.Macoto says he was inspired by botanical artists of the 15-17th century who would create detailed plant sketches for reference books,The 25-year-old from Odawara, Japan, explains: "I use plants from a flower shop or even one I may have picked up in the road then I dissect it with a scalpel, taking every part such as the petals or ovary and observing them with a magnifying glass,I then either take a photograph or make a sketch of the pieces before rendering them using specialist 3D computer software"

Each work can take between three days to a month depending on its complexity.

A radiologist has turned scans of his patients' ears, teeth,eyes,noses and other body parts into works of art.

'Curves in the ear'

Kai-hung Fung maps various organs using 3D computed tomography (CT) scans.

'Moire Eggs'

After feeding the data into a computer, he adds colour to his works using a method he invented
called the 'rainbow technique'. But he makes no other alterations, preferring a pure picture of
what body parts really look like.

'Teeth'

He said: "The pictures I create are generated directly from the medical 3D workstation,
representing what I see on it. I do not use software such as Adobe Photoshop to further change the image.

'What lies behind our nose'

"My aim is to preserve the direct relationship between the data and the artwork.

"It is a true integration of art, science and technology and can be studied both scientifically and
enjoyed as a visual art.

'Eye in the big hole'

"The imagery is packed with information. Each line or point represents specific anatomical
structures in the body in normal or diseased state. It creates an unusual perspective."

'Nose from the inside'

Since he started producing his works at Pamela Youde Nethersole Easter Hospital in Hong Kong they have been shown in galleries across the world.

Proceeds from sales of his pieces are donated to charity.

These pictures range from mid 2007-mid 2008, so they are pretty accurate as to what it looks like. Oddly enough, the YouTube campus has a large swimming pool, which is something Google’s Mountain.

Photos of a 17-year old surfer, Bethany Hamilton , made during the Reef Hawaiian Pro surfing contest. 4 years ago she lost her hand after an attack of a tiger-shark near the Hawaii Islands. After 10 weeks of the event she, nevertheless, returned to training. For her unbeatable character and passion towards surfing she was awarded an ESPY Best Comeback Athlete of the Year prize in 2004.

Yes, this is the incredible wooden miror!
Created by Daniel Rozen this incredible wooden mirror is made up of 830 tiny wood each controlled by a small motor. A camera gathers light and shape data and sends it to a computer which then shifts the panels to create the image in front of the device. They can’t provide a detailed image but still it’s pretty cool to see and hear those little wooden pieces move and mimic everything you do.
