FRACTURING MIND

Random thoughts woven yet so clear
Endlessly feeding impulses only I can hear

Leaving my pain upon the kitchen table
Will surely now my images enable
As if my mind is a channel on cable

I so want to be a bird in flight
And soar effortlessly into the night

Yet under the midnight sky I pace
Unsure of my destination or my place
With mornings light my heart will race

As once again I'm consumed with fear
That no one holds my spirit near

Too tired and busy is the ensuing claim
To stop, share, and enjoy this moment's frame

With passing days memories flood like heavy rain
Distorted by emotion and time, am I still sane

Weary and begrudgingly to my grave I'll go
clutching a note saying "I loved you all I just wanted you to know!"

FOREVER

The glowing sun shines through the blue sky

I’m walking in this unknown land, on sands as white as sheets
Now, I see a reef beneath a glowing sea
A mirage perhaps, something I can’t keep

But this all seems so real, the reef, the woman and me
She’s calling me, unspoken words, mental
come…come

She takes my hand and leads me down into the cool water

My feet are wet now, this is the most lucid of dreams
But now there’s an eerie feeling: the suffication, the water, so real

Heartbreak feels like this!

THE WEE HOURS

On the cool crisp sheet I soundly sleep
as the darkness of night slowly creeps...

The Moon and Stars do their familiar dance
and the Sun waits eagerly to take its stance...

My mind drifts wonderously in dreams
for endless hours it surely seems...

The same night air that fills the room
will summon the morning flowers to burst in bloom...

With each dawn comes a fresh clean day
another chance to love and play...
